Construx believes choosing sustainable materials is one of the most important decisions to make during the construction process. When possible, we source local materials to minimize the growing cost of transportation and energy. Doing so is not only good for the environment but also the local businesses and economy. We also pursue natural and renewable materials that are managed and harvested using sustainable practices. Our company also explores utilizing the expanding number of products made from recycled materials.
Salvage & Reclaimed Materials
At times, Construx is able to utilize salvaged and reclaimed building materials. We are able to reuse salvaged/reclaimed light fixtures, switch cover plates, moldings, door knobs, pull handles, and much more. Each year, thousands of usable building materials end up in landfills without being utilized to their fullest. We frequent the numerous salvage facilities that exist in our area to promote making the most of the quality materials that are often left to waste. Not only are reused materials more eco-friendly, but can also be budget-friendly.
Low Environmental Impact
At Construx, we strive to lessen our impact on the environment by consciously making decisions with ‘mother nature’ in mind. No detail is overlooked during the construction process without considering the impact it may have. Choosing high quality and long lasting building components decreases the amount of poorly made materials ending up in the landfill. Installing and recommending energy efficient appliances/ sustainable materials not only has a positive impact on the environment but also can reduce energy costs. We analyze house paints, recycled insulation materials, and even the lumber to ensure the lowest environmental impact.
Minimizing Waste
Construx takes great pride in minimizing waste during all of our building projects. Our building material estimates are carefully calculated to minimize over-purchasing, which leads to excess material going unused. Each and every measurement, cut, and action is meticulously evaluated so each piece of material can be used in its entirety. When possible we work with our suppliers to reduce material packaging. This cuts down on cost as well less material ending up in the landfill We also ensure all materials are properly stored so nothing is damaged by external elements.
